Week 3: Know Thyself—You Are the Key
Welcome to Week 3 of Get Your SHYT Together! Today’s focus? The “Y” in SHYT — You.
This week is all about radical self-acceptance through the lens of two powerhouse tools I adore:
StrengthsFinder 2.0 — Discover your top strengths and how to lean into them instead of fighting your wiring.
Human Design — A soulful blueprint that reveals how you’re uniquely meant to operate, make decisions, and thrive.
Story Time
I can remember the moment I plugged my details into the form online and looked at my body graph chart. For reference, I’m a 1/3 Manifesting Generator with emotional authority and the right angle cross of planning. So what does that mean?
Each facet of the human design chart is an indicator regarding how you energetically interact with the world. It also holds your frequency or how you uniquely operate.
As a Manifesting Generator, I have the energy for anything that lights me up and my throat is defined, like a Manifestor.
Are you still with me?
If this is totally new to you, let’s chat and I’ll walk you through the basics! DM me.
As a 1/3, I love to research and deep dive into topics and experiment with to what I learn. I can take in tons of info and put it all together in small digestible packages for others. This supports my right angle cross of planning because I’m here to make accessing resources simple for others.
With emotional authority, I do better when I take time to respond to things by feeling them through high and low emotions. No more quick “yeses” and regret for me!
As a generator, my strategy is to respond. Boy, that was a big lesson for me. No more initiating and not getting the results I want. Manifesting Generators also take the strategy to inform from Manifestors. That means telling others around you what you’re planning to do. It’s a simple as informing your family you’re working on something for a couple hours or as big as sharing with your email list the big programs you have planned.
Listen, I would have saved myself a lot of life challenges if I knew that years ago.
Taking a Strengths-based Approach
For the first decade and a half of adulthood, I operated under the assumption I still had so much to learn. I saw my deficits as glaring and beat myself up.
When I took the Strengths-Finder 2.0 test in grad school, I discovered a new way to look at myself.
Instead of seeing all my “negative” qualities I began leaning into my strengths. My top five are:
Communication
Connection
Positivity
Futuristic
WOO - winning others over
You can ask me what my bottom five are, but I can’t tell you.
I let that sh@t go! LOL.
Why harp on what doesn’t come naturally to you and beat yourself up when you can lean into your strengths and celebrate who you are authentically?
Why “You” Matters
So often, women I work with have been told to “fix” or “fix” something about themselves. But here’s a secret:
